Petcare Food Drive

It is critical that we continue to provide feral cats enough nutrition to weather the cold winter months.

Our Sterile Feral Food program provides food to feral cat caregivers of managed colonies. By “managed” we mean the colony has been Trapped, Neutered and Returned (TNR), so the cats are no longer breeding and have been vaccinated.

Our good friends at Petcare Veterinary Services are hosting a feral cat food drive now throughout the month of February. Won’t you consider dropping off some canned or dry food today?

Pet BereavementThere is something deep within our nature that loves the special relationship of the human-pet bond. In many ways, our bonds with our beloved pets are stronger, purer, and far more intimate than our other relationships.
Andrea Seader, a certified pet loss and bereavement counselor through the Association for Pet Loss and Bereavement (APLB), will be facilitating a support group for pet loss and bereavement, hosted by Our Companions.

The group will be an emotionally safe environment  that is caring, compassionate, and supportive. Group members will also learn about the grieving process, so that they may evaluate their own healing and provide peer support to others.  The group is appropriate for those who have had a loss at any time, and also addresses anticipatory grief and other types of loss, recently or in the past, such as disappearance, divorce, moving, relinquishing.

Each session is a fee of $25.00, but a sliding scale will be considered. Cash or check is due at the beginning of each session. A portion of each fee will be donated to Our Companions.

Contact Andrea by e-mail (andrea106@cox.net) to register or for further information. Feel free to forward this to others who might be interested.
