Volunteers take a trip to Ashford land

Our Companions volunteers took a road trip to Ashford to explore the sanctuary property for themselves.  It was important for us to explore the land and to see the factory farming chicken coops that currently occupy the property.  By experiencing these chicken coops firsthand, we were able to feel the horrible pain and suffering that once occupied this land.  As Susan shared with us the exciting details of the work that is to start in August, we all felt a sense of joy and delight that we are able to participate in such a beautiful project.  A project that will transform this land into a magical, peaceful and healing place for both animals and people. ~volunteer, Angela Pugliese

Inside the chicken coop we could feel the pain and suffering the chickens faced. To learn more about battery cages, please click here and watch the video of what once existed in these buildings.  What a great opportunity to learn more!  Use this knowledge to make compassionate decisions when purchasing eggs.
