Eddie

Eddie Jr., along with Charley Jr., Yin and Yang, previously lived in a home with several other chinchillas. Earlier in 2024, Our Companions had assisted with six of the chinchillas in the home through our Rehoming Program and had successfully found homes for all six. Now, with our small animal cottage open, the owners reached out again for assistance with four additional chinchillas. We welcomed Charley, Eddie, Yin, and Yang to our Sanctuary in July of 2024.

Eddie was about a year and a half old when he arrived to our Sanctuary. He was quite nervous and shy while transitioning to his new habitat. Charley’s exuberance during her free roam time made Eddie more nervous, so staff rearranged his habitat to make sure he had his own space and felt safe. Staff have also been working on bonding and trust exercises to become more comfortable with people and within a few months, Eddie has really shown great progress! He doesn’t like to be handled or petted, but we know patience and consistency is key with Eddie! We can’t wait to continue seeing more of his personality shine!
