Clyde and Bonnie were found outside, and as you can see, they are clearly domestic rabbits! Pet rabbits can’t survive on their own outside, and these two were probably abandoned. Luckily, someone saw the two friends and contacted us to help them find a home! We welcomed Bonnie and Clyde to our Sanctuary in November 2024. Clyde is a gray male giant Flemish mix rabbit believed to be about 1.5yo. Neither were altered (spay/neuter) so we had to keep them separated until we could get them the veterinary care they needed. Bonnie was especially upset being away from Clyde, but poor Clyde has some serious medical needs that needed attention! Clyde had a parasite E. Cuniculi that caused his head to tilt and has been treated. His head tilt remains and will most likely be permanent, but he’s healthy now and thriving! Because of that, the vet did not think it was safe to perform a neuter on Clyde or give him the RHDV vaccine. After Bonnie’s spay, the two were reunited and happier than ever! They are truly a bonded pair and love each other very much. They provide friendship and comfort to one another and will be adopted out together!
Clyde loves his Bonnie and his treats! Both will run up to greet you and will happily climb all over your lap for treats! They are both a little nervous with a lot of petting but we feel they will do great in a home with patient people who can give them the love and attention they deserve, and can bond with them one-on-one! Well… two-on-two! Like many rabbits, they will do well in a calmer home with older kiddos/teens/adults. Bonnie and Clyde have also been very neat with the litterbox and would love a home where they can explore with some supervised free roaming!
