Background Story:
Hanging out near a home as a stray, Calvin was found to have a deformed leg, possibly from an old injury or more likely a congenital deformity. Local animal control officers picked him up and he was brought to the nearest municipal shelter. He was nervous in his new surroundings and did not like being confined in a cage, making him jumpy and restless. At 4 years old, he was eventually brought to our Sanctuary in 2019 to give him the playtime, enrichment, and attention he needed to thrive. Though his leg is slightly crooked, it doesn’t slow down Calvin one bit! He still loves to jump, play, perch, and have lots of fun!
In 2020, Calvin was adopted into a home with another cat. Though he would get along with some of his feline friends at the Sanctuary and the cats in the home would occasionally cohabitate, as the years went on, Calvin did start to exhibit some nervous behaviors. Despite the adopter’s best efforts to try and work things out in the home, it was clear Calvin would do best in a single pet household. We welcomed Calvin back to our Sanctuary in December of 2024 at 9 years old. Having his own space, Calvin bounced back to his playful, affectionate self! We look forward to searching for a home where Calvin can be loved, adored, and have lots of fun with his family!
