Hoppin’ Hoodie is a fabulous Lionhead rabbit who will quickly steal your heart!
Hoodie was originally spotted running loose in a field, and he was clearly not a wild rabbit. The couple who spotted him were able to catch him in the field by making a “basket” with a hoodie, hence the name! The couple welcome him home where he enjoyed a life of indoor free roaming. After a few years and the addition of a baby, the home became too busy to give Hoodie the attention he deserved and the pet guardians reached out to Our Companions to help. We welcomed him to our Small Animal Cottage in November of 2024.
Hoodie has a mild, respectful, and kind temperament with a very mellow vibe. As Hoodie has settled in, he has enjoyed being held on a lap and will cuddle up on your chest if he knows you. At first he seemed a bit stressed living in the same room as bonded pair, Bonnie and Clyde, so they were moved to their own room when space allowed. He did well living next to Marceline and Waffles and feel he will continue to blossom as he seems much more used to the sounds, smells, and routines at the Sanctuary. He has our staff and volunteers trained to keep his room to his liking! Treated like a king, we don his area with blankets and rugs as he seems to prefer soft surroundings vs. the normal boring floor. Hoodie is so handsome with his fluffy dark grey and black fur and big, bright ears! We’ve been working on brushing his fur too so he doesn’t get matts behind his ears. He is about 5 years old with a clean bill of health!
