Background Story:
We are madly in love with our adoptable mice guests!
Our Companions was contacted by another rescue that was handling a hoarding situation with 400 mice in need of safe placement. Organizations across states rallied to come together for the sheer size of space needed. As they separated the males from the females, we were asked to take in 9 females, and we were well aware they might be already pregnant. Our team separated 3 of the 9 females we suspected were pregnant and just a few day later, we had three litters of baby mice!
Since then, the mice moms had successful births to many little darling mice. We were quickly able to separate the boys and girls after they could safely live away from mom. They were never too far though! We have all our mice friends in separate habitats in the same room. We are getting to know them, their coloring, their personalities, their little differences, and seeing who gets along with who! Now the “babies” are technically grown and their moms are officially adults since they themselves gave birth at a very young age. We have six habitats with a variety of sex-specific groupings and have been monitoring their socializing together and ensuring a harmonious home habitat to live in! Now that they are bonded and older, pet guardians can adopt multiple bonded mice as long as they grew up in the same habitat.
Our original females are: Macaroni, Cupcake, Cookie, Biscuit, Mochi, Sugar, Peanut, Muffin and Cecili
The babies are: Blaze, Zim, Zeus, Max, Tiny Tim, Scrooge, Link, Zelda, Tetris, Pisces, Libra, Gemini, Star, Pancake, Patches!
Mama mouse, Cecili, and her daughter Patches were the first to get adopted!
Adoption Info:
Our Companions rescued 9 female pregnant mice in November 2024 from a hoarding case. 3 were pregnant which resulted in a total of over 20 happy and healthy little mice friends! The mice are now technically grown up and are ready for adoption! We have 6 total habitats and 22 mice, separated by temperament, bonding, and sex. They are so cute and fun to watch; there’s always someone on the exercise wheel and a couple at the food dish, a few snuggled in bedding, and another chewing a toy…. 24/7 fun! They have a variety of muted and neutral colors, love to explore their habitat, and we are working to help them feel as comfortable and confident as we can with being held by people.
