New Faces – October Sanctuary Update
Hi Everyone!
For any of you who have been by the sanctuary recently, I’m sure you’ve seen the great progress that’s been made on the new buildings. It’s all very exciting, but also means that there’s lots more work coming our way and new challenges to go along with it. So, with more buildings and more dogs and cats (and other critters) on the way, that also means new faces among the staff. We’ve made a big effort this time out to get ahead of the coming changes and start some key staff now in order to have everyone ready for the coming challenges. That, plus the normal comings and goings of the world have brought some great new people into the Our Companions world and I’d like to take a moment to introduce them to you.
One of the first things we needed to do to get ready for the increased size of our operation is to create new layers of management. There will now be an individual manager overseeing the teams in the cat cottages, the volunteer dog cottages (Chelsea and Henree), and the behavior dog cottages (Chris’s and Love Shack). As you know, Jill stepped into the role of managing the team in the dog volunteer cottages, so now we have hired on a couple of new faces for the other management positions. Please say hello to Dawn, our new behavior dog cottage team manager, and Heidi, the cat team manager!
We’ve also added on some new faces to our regular staff. Scott is our new Facilities Caregiver. Miles has joined on to the Cat Team as a caregiver. And the Dog Team has brought on new caregivers, Alayna and Katie.

Hi Everyone!
I once again had the pleasure of observing, from my comfy window spot next to Jon’s computer, another Our Companions party. This time is was a get together for staff and volunteers to celebrate 10 years of the sanctuary being in operation. It was a big deal, and it looked like you all had lots of fun. And you deserve it. Without your generous gifts of time and effort, us fuzzy friends would not be able to recover and thrive here. Here’s to another 10 years awesomeness!!
Thanks!
Simon
And of Course…Adoptions!!
We had a nice bump in adoption activity in October. On the dog side, our lovely Willow found her way to her forever home. And with the cats, sassy senior, Nellie, and handsome fluffball, Yetti, also went home. New arrivals to the cat cottages this month are Rosie, medical project Penny, and purrfect pair Jett and Dylan.
Thank you all so much for whatever way you support us and our mission. We couldn’t do it without you.
