Simba

Simba’s previous owner first adopted him 3-4 years ago when she heard about an urgent rehoming situation during the pandemic. Simba’s owner was moving and was unable to continue caring for him. Thankfully, he was adopted to a home with other resident cats. Over the years, Simba’s mom tried to integrate Simba to the rest of the household cats, but Simba was unable to adapt. Simba’s owner did everything she could to help Simba cohabitate with her other cats, but Simba preferred his space away from his furry siblings. Recently, a family member is moving into the home with two additional cats, which was a concern for Simba. The family made the tough decision that Simba needed an only pet household and contacted Our Companions for assistance.

Simba was initially in our Rehoming Program as we searched for the perfect home for him. As the deadline approached of the additional cats moving into the home, and our Sanctuary at capacity, we were so grateful when Happy Cat Hotel (HCH) in East Granby was able to help by securing a room for Simba, even during their busy holiday weekend. HCH welcomed Simba to his very own room and continued his care until we had space for him at the Sanctuary. Now having his own space, Simba quickly settled in, loved to interact with his new friends, and especially enjoyed play time with all the toys that HCH had to offer! HCH sent regular updates with Simba’s progress, along with photos. It was so great to see him thrive!

Eventually our Sanctuary did have space for Simba’s arrival and we welcomed him about a month later in September of 2024 at the age of 6 years old. Simba continues to settle into his next new environment, but continues to be happy with his own cat pad and many friends to give him attention! We are incredibly grateful for the care and kindness that HCH provided to Simba and we look forward to seeing more of his personality shine!
