Squeak is an 11-year-old sweetie pie that comes to us from a municipal shelter. Squeak lived in the same home most of her life, until recently when the family took in a pregnant female cat who started to bully and attack Squeak. She ended up with a large abscessed wound at the base of her tail and her tail eventually became dead. She was then surrendered to animal control where they worked quickly to schedule a surgery to amputate the tail. Given the surgery and recovery process, we welcomed Squeak to our Sanctuary to help with her healing journey. She’s already proved to be quite a sleuth and have found ways to remove her cone and go after her surgery site. But we know our Cat Team will work their magic once again to help Squeak have a smooth recovery, as well as feel safe and loved during her time with us. And yes, she does live up to her name and squeaks!

Squeak continues to recover from her tail amputation and we can already tell she won’t let the injury slow her down! She rubs on anyone who comes to visit her in her room as a grateful introduction and talks to us in her darling squeaks. Since she is in recovery, we are keeping her calm with more cuddles than playtimes – but we can’t wait to see how she blossoms once her tail is fully healed and even more fun can begin!
