Tank’s owner was sadly battling cancer and had to enter hospice care, unable to bring Tank with her. Tank was temporarily being cared for by friends and family, but was extremely fearful in the home without his owner and needed a more permanent place to go. OC was contacted for assistance and we welcomed Tank to our Sanctuary in December of 2024, estimated to be around 17.5 years old.
Tank was initially an outdoor cat until around 7 or 8 years old when his owner welcomed Tank to her home and cared for him over those next 10 years. Tank had learned to love and socialize with his owner, but was very fearful of any new people that visited the home. Knowing his lack of socialization, we look forward to giving Tank all the time, love, and respect he needs to feel safe and comfortable at our Sanctuary. So far, he’s been making slow, but great, progress by engaging in some playtime and even demonstrating some curiosity with his new friends!
