The Sanctuary’s Seventh Birthday

This past October, the Sanctuary has been open for a whole seven years! Seven years of forming trusting relationships, seven years of mental and physical enrichment, seven years of adoptions, seven years of laughs, and seven years of cuddles. Initially starting with only one building, Sebastian House, for both cats and dogs, we now have expanded to six fully functioning cottages for our lovely guests to have a place to call their own.

At this year’s birthday celebration, there was more people, more food, and more activities than we’ve ever had! There was delicious vegan cupcakes from Not Only Juice in Willimantic, as well as scrumptious vegan donuts from 21 Oak in Manchester. We had funky, celebratory music, which got a few people up and ready to dance! We even had a pumpkin painting station and chalk for all of our friends who wanted to get creative and help decorate the Sanctuary! This year was certainly our biggest turnout ever! It was great meeting everyone’s families and loved ones who came to celebrate with us!

Though this birthday celebration is a joyous time to recognize seven years of helping animals, it’s also a time to thank every single one of our volunteers for your time and dedication to Our Companions! These animals are able to live fulfilling lives thanks to the unconditional love and patience you give to them. Thank you to everyone who came to the Sanctuary’s birthday party and we hope to see even more of you next year!
