Wiley

Wiley was originally adopted as a young pup by a lovely couple. Soon after, the couple welcomed a baby to their family. Wiley started to have a difficult time handling the changes in the home. He was protective of his mama and became increasingly anxious with sharing his mom’s attention with the baby. It was a very tough decision to rehome Wiley, but ultimately they knew it would be for the best for Wiley to find a home where he could receive the love and attention he needed to thrive.

The couple reached out to Our Companions for assistance and Wiley entered our Rehoming Program. Wiley was adopted by a first time dog owner seeking a companion, but after only a of couple days, the adopter realized he didn’t want the commitment of a dog after all. He explained that it was no fault of Wiley, but Wiley did return back to his original home. Once space opened at our Sanctuary, we invited Wiley to join us in September of 2024 at almost two years old.

Though he’s been with us for a short time, Wiley is already stealing many hearts at the Sanctuary! He loves all the exercise and enrichment he’s receiving daily, especially all the attention his new friends are giving him. He’s very eager to learn and has enjoyed showing off how smart he is! We look forward to seeing him in one of our training classes- we know he’s going to be a star student!
